OXYCAT+ is an efficient and economical method of removing iron and manganese compounds from groundwater by process of gravity fed or pressurized water treatment systems. Oxycat+ acts as insoluble catalyst between the dissolved oxygen and soluble iron compounds, enhances the oxidation reaction of Fe++ to Fe+++ and produces ferric hydroxide which is precipitated as ferric hydroxide and easily removed it by backwashing process.
OXYCAT+ also reduce manganese from groundwater while manganese is converted from a two-plus to a four-plus state. This reaction takes about five to 10 minutes in drinking water that has a pH at or above 7.00.
